Modified Web Registeration Rules- China

In a new drive to harden control on the usage of internet, China's technology ministry says it arose with a ban on individuals operating websites, but encroached with stiffer registration requirements.

The declaration came as Beijing in conversation with Google about the US based research engine, If it would be allowed to resume its operations in China after it said it would no longer co operate in web censorship.

The Chinese group which was State sanctioned, assigns domain names suspended registration of individuals on December 14, post government media alleged it to be found lacking to check whether their sites support pornographic content.

Covered by the new system, individual operators must submit their identity cards and photos of themselves and meet in person with regulators and representatives of service providers, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said Tuesday
