Google "Gets Rolling" with Open Source Living Stories...

Google took up a decision to go open for its Living Stories project and keep its access doors open for all news outlets worldwide. Living Stories was enrooted with the New York Times and the Washington Post to boost up user engagement rate by accumulating bits of a story in one place and making the follow up at a later stage effortless and clear, according to the Guardian.

The Living Story prioritizes content according to its importance for the reader and how it can be approached in different ways-targeting on news, time line, graphics, quotes, and resources. "We look forward to working with developers and journalists to see how we can work together on Living Stories. We're keen on finding new innovative ways for news publishers to deliver content and find online readers, and this is one of many efforts we're working on in that direction," said Google's print content partnerships Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa, Santiago de la Mora.
With Living Stories, Google aims to accomplish a considerable part in molding journalism into the digital age. Till date, Google delivered only traffic. In the recent past there took place some discussions, if Traffic wise Facebook would prove out to be a threat to Google, its figures look challenging overall. "Google news deliver 1bn clicks per month directly and 4bn clicks from Google overall," says de la Mora

In recent past the project was executed on the Google news homepage in the US, in all it was welcomed by critics. According to Google, 75 percent of people who evaluated us said they desire the Living Stories format to the conventional online news article. "On an average visit, users spend more than nine minutes with each story", said Google spokesperson Oliver Rickman about Living Stories.
